BUY THE BIG ONE. YOU ALWAYS NEED THE BIG ONE.
Everyone who buys a cable box buys a second, larger cable box about four months later, because the first one fit the strip but not the three power bricks hanging off it. Bred is the size you should have started with — long enough to swallow a full extension lead plus the chunky adaptors for a laptop, a monitor and a router. It lives behind the desk or under the TV and does the whole job in one object. Learn from everyone else's second purchase.
WHY IT EARNS ITS PLACE ON YOUR DESK
- Takes the strip and the power bricks together — which is the part the standard-size boxes never manage.
- Runs long and low — so it slides behind a desk leg or under a media unit instead of standing proud.
- Passes cables through wide end channels — big enough for thick monitor and router leads, not just phone cables.
- Circulates air through base vents — so a fully loaded extension does not sit in its own heat.
- Sets up in one go — — no tools, no fixings, nothing to build.
